During the month of May, we hope to bring our community together by being part of the Give In May campaign to raise funds for nonprofits like ours in honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. AAPI Heritage Month is a time to celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of AAPIs in our society. However, it’s also a time to recognize the challenges and disparities that many members of the AAPI community face, especially in healthcare.
The AAPI community has unique healthcare needs, including language barriers, cultural differences, and limited access to affordable healthcare services. North East Medical Services (NEMS) has been serving the Asian American community since 1971 and is committed to bridging these gaps and providing high-quality, culturally competent care to all members of the AAPI community, regardless of their ability to pay.
This year, our goal is to raise $20,000 to support various NEMS projects and programs that advance NEMS patient care and access.
