In honor of World Hepatitis Day on July 28th, NEMS is hosting hepatitis C workshops all month long! Did you know? Hepatitis C is a liver infection caused by the hepatitis C virus that can lead to a chronic infection causing serious live damage, including cirrhosis (liver scarring) and liver cancer, over time. People infected with chronic hepatitis C often show no symptoms until they have reached an advanced liver disease stage. Fortunately, if discovered early, hepatitis C infection can be cured with treatment which is why it is important to know your hepatitis C status. There are many things you can do to protect yourself and reduce your risk of hepatitis C. If you want to learn more about hepatitis C, please attend NEMS Health Education Workshop.
