We are looking for caring and enthusiastic individuals who want to give back to the community. Volunteers can work with patients or help out behind-the-scenes in a wide range of activities and departments. We have flexible shifts, and volunteers are asked to complete a minimum of 150 hours within a 3-6 month period.
We are looking for college students who are interested in pursuing a health-related career for our Linda Yu Bien Volunteer Program. The goal of the program is to expose students to the dynamic environment of a community health center so that they can better understand how health care is delivered to an underserved population. Volunteers will receive trainings from NEMS Health Education Department on how to improve communication skills in a health care setting and learn how to deliver culturally competent health education messages. To learn more about the program, click here. To apply, complete the Volunteer Contact Form and mention the Linda Yu Bien Volunteer Program in your message.

Today is #WorldTBDay! We recognize this day to raise public awareness and accelerate efforts to #endTB as one of the world’s deadliest infectious killers.
At least 2 million Californians are infected with TB infection. Most are not aware. Most people living with TB infection in California were born outside of the United States where TB is more common. When left untreated, TB infection can progress to disease at any time. Individuals with weakened immune systems are at a greater risk for getting sick from TB.
Are you at risk for TB? #Gettested! It could save your life. To schedule your free test (available to ALL community members) or for more information, please contact NEMS Member Services Department at 415-391-9686 or 650-550-3923 or 408-573-9686.
